1. VICTREX® PEEK™-based VICOTE® thermoplastic polymer coatings can be applied via electrostatic or traditional dispersion spray methods.
2. VICOTE® powder coatings can be used with standard electrostatic coating equipment, either in manual or automated powder booths.
3. VICOTE® aqueous dispersions can be applied using typical gravity, suction, or high-volume, low-pressure (HVLP) spray equipment.
4. Powders can be directly sprayed onto the substrate.
5. The powder melts and creates the polymer coating, usually achieving a dry film thickness (DFT) ranging from 100 to 1000 microns (4-40 mil).
6. Common applications encompass food processing components, pump parts, dampers, bushings, cylinder head gaskets, and bearings.
7. The formulated aqueous polymer coating is sprayed onto the substrate and then heated to create a thin film, generally between 25 and 50 microns.
8. Dispersions provide a broader range of formulation options to improve wear and release characteristics.
9. Typical applications include cookware, irons, engine piston rings, bearing cages, and molds.
